Pricing
Specific pricing is dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each project. Below are some factors that come into play:
Clamp-on Meter vs. Inline Meter
Clamp-on meters can be placed into service by facility personnel which results in no installation costs. Inline meters are generally cheaper than clamp-on meters, but the installation costs incurred to place them into service can make inline meters a more expensive route overall.
Number of Meters
As would be expected, the more meters you want placed into service, the more expensive the project will be. However, we are able to provide price breaks as the number of meters to be placed into service increases.
Pipe Size
Pipe size affects the cost of both clamp-on and inline meters. The cost of a meter typically increases when the pipe diameter is greater than 1 inch. Further price increases occur when the pipe diameter exceeds the 3-inch and 6-inch thresholds.
Facility Size
Our meters communicate with our gateway devices via a cellular network. Typically, a single gateway can manage all the meters needed for a given project. For larger campuses, however, additional gateway devices may be needed to capture all meter read data.
Retrofitting Existing Meters
Existing meters, if in good operating order, can potentially be retrofitted with our radio devices to allow for remote access to your meter data. The ability to do this will depend on whether the existing meter operates on a pulse output. If so, the retrofitting approach could be the most cost-effective approach for your situation.
